Without getting into spoilers, the presence of Simon Strong and Alys Rivers, in particular, point to a sequence of events from the source material that unfolds at Harrenhal. There's a reason Prince Daemon (Matt Smith) made mention of Harrenhal when poring over the painted table at Queen Rhaenyra's (Emma D'Arcy) war council in the season 1 finale. The Hightowers made it to 297 AC when A Song of Ice and Fire takes place. While they still rule Oldtown, they have taken allegiance to Tyrells of Highgarden.
History
House Hightower is one of the most ancient, wealthy, and powerful houses in Westeros. The Hightowers have been at the front and center of politics in Westeros for centuries, owing to their rule of Oldtown, which was the biggest city in Westeros for thousands of years before the coming of the Targaryens. First, Daemon must zoom around Westeros to gather as many houses as possible for that fight. I suspect that the strategy set-up will take up much of this second season, but unlike with the book, Rhaenyra might even leave Dragonstone to participate. And we will literally see fire rain down from the sky when the two sides have to force allegiance from reluctant settlements. Additionally, despite what his title may suggest, Otto Hightower is not actually the Lord of his house in House of the Dragon.

When House of the Dragon begins its tale, likely around the year 100 AC (After Aegon’s Conquest), Set Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) is one of the most influential men in the Seven Kingdoms. While his older brother serves as the Lord Hightower of Oldtown, Otto has an important job in King’s Landing as Hand of the King. A scholarly intelligent man, Otto essentially ran the kingdom for the last two year’s of the “Old King” Jaehaerys I’s reign, as the beloved monarch experienced ill health. Things generally don’t seem to go very well for the Hightowers when they leave the comforts of their Hightower. Though immensely rich and often very learned due to their relationship with the Citadel, they’re not particularly interested in participating the game of thrones.

A knight of House Hightower and cousin of Lord Ormund Hightower. During the Dance of the Dragons, he joined the Caltrops, a conspiracy to kill the Two Betrayers, dragonseeds who had defected to the Greens but were plotting to take the Iron Throne themselves. One of the sons of Ser Otto Hightower, younger brother of Alicent Hightower and second in command of the City Watch of King's Landing during the Dance of the Dragons. Second son of King Uthor of the High Tower, Peremore was a sickly and crippled child, but had a great love of learning and hosted dozens of scholars, wizards, teachers, singers, etc. during his life. After his death, his brother King Urrigon granted land to "Peremore's pets", which may have been the founding of the Citadel.

The family stuck by King Aerys during Robert’s rebellion and stayed aligned with the Tyrells as far as George R.R. Martin has written. During all of this, Lord Martyn Hightower became Lord Hightower. Martyn’s brother was the only knight sworn to the Faith of the Seven that Maegor pardoned after his war with the faithful and the suspicious death of High Septon. He yielded Oldtown to the Targaryens, and Ceryse was returned to King’s Landing, where she lived to old age. The family resided in a black stone fortress before building the High Tower that gives them their name. The Kings of the High Tower erected stone walls, towers, and fortifications to protect Oldtown from invaders.
The city is home to The Citadel, which is where the Order of the Maesters live and study. Any time a great lord seeks to add a Maester to their house, they must request one from The Citadel in Oldtown. Also in Oldtown is the Starry Sept, which used to essentially be the Vatican for the Faith of the Seven, before it was supplanted by the Great Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing.
In fact, with the release date announcement, HBO also released a master document of character descriptions that you can check out over here. This is a smart marketing ploy given that, like Game of Thrones before it, House of the Dragon will present viewers with many new faces to keep up with. It’s tempting to read the new characters in HBO’s “House of the Dragon” through a “Game of Thrones” lens, to see the dragon-riding princess Rhaenyra (played as a youth by Milly Alcock) as the new Daenerys (Emilia Clarke). Other parallels between the two shows exist as well, though they are perhaps less obvious.

Marshals Fugitive Task Force comprises various agencies in the area, including CMPD officers. Following an hours-long standoff, police were able to clear the home and found two other individuals inside the residence. Both were brought to the police station as persons of interest. The four CMPD officers who were also injured in the incident were identified Tuesday as Christopher Tolley, Michael Giglio and Jack Blowers, who were shot, and Justin Campbell, who suffered a broken foot, police said. Tolley remains hospitalized in stable condition and the others have since been released, police said. Twelve Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers fired their service weapon during the incident and have been placed on administrative leave, per protocol, amid an investigation into the shooting, the chief said.
Grief-stricken members of the community filed into a local church Tuesday night to honor the four fallen law enforcement officers killed in an ambush at an east Charlotte home the day before. "We are getting a close look this morning of the East Charlotte home where four law enforcement officers were shot and killed yesterday morning," WSOC-TV reporter Eli Brand shared. "You can see the damage caused by an armored truck police used to breach inside."
Armed with a "high-powered rifle," Hughes fired upon the approaching task force officers, striking several of them, police said. Officers called for backup and, as additional law enforcement responded to the scene, "the gunfire continued, striking additional officers," the department said. Authorities eventually shot Hughes, who was pronounced dead on the front lawn. At least 12 Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers fired their weapons during the incident, all of whom are on paid administrative leave, the department said in a statement Tuesday. "Officer Joshua Eyer has passed away tonight from his injuries after being shot in the line of duty this afternoon while assisting other officers with the apprehension of a suspect," CMPD said in a statement on social media.

People in the Haven were sitting in a section to themselves but in the same situation. At this port, you had to take a shuttle bus a short distance to where you actually board so it was very time consuming. When they started calling numbers for everyone else, it was hard to hear.

Instead, larger ships need to exit the area by going backward, as the Queen Mary 2 had to do in 2006. By the 1940s, American President Lines had established one of the port’s largest cruise passenger operations at Berths 153 and 154 on Mormon Island. But on June 22, 1947, the tanker ship Markay exploded while taking on fuel at the Shell Oil terminal, across the channel at Berth 167. Flaming fuel from the exploding ship raced across the 600-foot wide waterway to the APL terminal buildings, which were destroyed.
The worst part was there were large puddles of water and they had suitcases sitting in it. It was under a tent but they should have swept away the water or put tarps over it or something. Note that the 710 Freeway ends at the Long Beach port, so then you will follow the signs to the cruise terminal.
